Today students learned to use cascading blocks and were able to program their sumobots to respond to touch sensors. In addition they are working on providing solutions to some of the FLL competition missions. One of the fundamental elements that distinguish FLL from other programs of its kind are the FLL Core Values. By embracing the Core Values, participants learn that friendly competition and mutual gain are not separate goals, and that helping one another is the foundation of teamwork.
In the following days, students will be sharing their experiences with designated groups in order to achieve as many missions as possible. Some rearrangement of groups will need to be done in order to ensure greater chances of success.
Some Core Values during this course are presented below:
- We do the work to find solutions with guidance from our mentors.
- We know our mentors don't have all the answers; we learn together.
- We share our experiences with others.
- We have FUN!
I also want to extend an invitation to observe your children in two expo sessions to other Summer Program students. These will take place on:
- Thursday at 9:35 am
- Friday at 8:30 am
Please come to our class, MS MPR located on the first floor of the Art quad. Each expo will last for approximately 20 minutes, but you are welcome to stay in the class for as long as you like.
Hope to see you all there.
