I can't recall the last time that I had zero emails in my Inbox. It has taken me a long time to get through all of them and either replying to some of them, placing them inside existing folders, or deleting them. I do find that the average number of emails I can get in a day is between 30 to 40 emails. If I put them off my radar, they just get lost there until I find the time (and energy) to go through them.
Some emails can be easily avoided by either coming to see me or making a simple phone call. That way I don't get inundated with loads of emails that fill up the little time that I have.
Next time you send an email. Think about what the other person will be receiving from you.
Pick up a phone or walk!
