Designing a 3D Chakana

Something important to wrap up your head around, what you are doing when you are creating these sketches and where you are trying to get to. Whenever you design in a 3D work environment you want to think about:
  1. Where do I want to get to at the end of this?
  2. What do I want the part to look like?
  3. How do I want to be able to edit it?
  4. If you move the location of a hole or something?

If you build that thing the way you designed your model, then it's going to save you some time in the future, when it comes to making edits. I wanted to give this a try. There is a symbol in Peru called the Chakana which is also known as the Inca Cross. This is something you would not like to make with a primitive. So using the Sketch Tool I was able to model a 3D one. Using the Line Tool I was able to sketch with dimensions.

I then made a hole in the center using Extrude. This is the importance of understanding the different techniques that you can use to actually design something in Fusion 360.

This is the final Chakana.
