There are three cutting operations that you need to complete, as shown below:
See if you can figure out what to do to get this shape. If you need help, don't hesitate to ask for support.
To begin, from the Toolbar select Create, I'm going to go to Hole, or I can also use "H" on the keyboard.
Select the face where I want the hole to start.
Now I'm going to go to the Front View and move that around.
You can see the center point of the arc and that's where I want the center of the hole to be.
Looking at the Hole dialog box. There are a number of hole types. I'm staying with the Simple hole type. I'm going to change the Diameter of the hole to 9 mm. Change the Extents to "To".
Rotate that around and select the Back Face. That's good. Then you can see the profile of the hole.
Click on OK to complete the process.
You will see that's been added to the Timeline. If I need to go back and edit that I can.
Back to Create - Hole. Click on the same face. Again move that image to the center of the hole.
In this case, I don't want to create the Simple hole type, but instead a Counterbore (a drilled hole that has a flat-bottomed enlargement at its mouth).
There is more information to be input. The Diameter will be 8 mm. The Depth will be 6 mm and the Counterbore Diameter is fine at 13 mm. The Extents of "To" is good. Rotate that around and select the Back Face.
Again, using the View Cube rotate that around. Select the face. You can see the Counterbore profile using Orbit. You see the Counterbore on the left hand side and then a drilled hole on the right.
To add Threads to that Counterbore, just on the Drill hole on the right hand side.
Click on Create - Thread. Select that area.
We have some options. One is called Modeled. We'll come back to that in a moment. And everything else is fine. Click on OK. Let's zoom into that. That's actually an image of a threaded hole.
I'm going to be 3D printing this model. So, I right click on my Timeline. Checked off Modeled and then click on OK.
Now it is actually a Threaded hole. So, when I 3D print this, it will be correct.
